About Grenada:

Christopher Columbus was the first European to sight in Grenada in 1498, The first settlement was unsucsessful as the Caribs drove out the settlers. In 1649 a group of French colonist from the Island of Martinique secured a settlement by way of Treaty with the native population. The French were in power until 1763 and ceded the colony to Britian as part og the Paris treaty. Caribbean history is unique from place to place, but has some overarching commonalities.
